So...... the house move has finally been sorted out! Its taken almost 3 months from start to finish - but we are now going to be moving on friday 28th April! After such a long process its amazing to think that we have only one week to get everything packed and organised!
We are going to spend this weeekend packing everything into boxes - and throwing lots of stuff away that we doing need anymore!
We are only moving a couple of doors down the road - literally 50metres (from a flat into a real house!) so we are going to try and do everything without needing a moving van. I think that this might arose quite a bit of interest from the neighbours - as they watch us cart all our wordly possessions down the street - but we've always done things a little bit differently!
Right - off for another morning of experiments to find if there is anything that will help Tara's nausea - right now all we have found is not getting out of bed until 10am seems to work - fine for the weekends, a bit difficult during the working week!

ps - starting to feel really old - a proper house and baby on the way - crumbs!!!!

So Sick!
Well we are 9 weeks and a bit along now and I am getting very sick of being sick! Yesterday was our first day back to school after the Easter holidays and I don't think that getting up early agrees with Baby! I was sick 6 times throughout the course of the day and felt quite wretched. I don't teach much though on a Wednesday so I hung on and managed to get some work done. Today, however, was a big teaching day. I went in this morning and after two dashes to the loo before 8am I decided to call it a day. I am glad I did as well as I was forced to be quite undignified out of the door of the car a few times enroute to home. Ugh!
Well, they say it will get better soon. And all I can say is 'bring on 12 weeks!'

The midwife comes to visit
The midwife came to see us today to go through our medical histories and take lots of blood samples. The due date for the baby is now changed to the 22nd November, 2006. This means I am still at week 8 until Monday. That's okay though as it means I can stay a week longer in Canada in the summer (airlines apparently don't really like you travelling after 28 weeks!). Here's a picture of a baby at 8 weeks -- according to Stephen our baby actually looks much cuter than this because he is so hot.

Keeping in touch...
Just a short note to make sure that I keep this new blog of ours up to date!
The kittens (Jasmin and Kiera) have just returned from the vet - they were both spayed today. Both are well - a little grumpy, and both trying to lick their stitches!
Our house move also seems to be falling into place now. The solicitor seems to think we will be able to exchange contracts by the easter weekend, and hopefully we will then be able to set a moving date for the end of April.
We have our first meeting with the midwife tomorrow - will write more then.

2 + baby = 3

We found out we were pregnant about three weeks ago. We had been trying since December and felt so happy and excited that we immediately wanted to share our joy with someone. The obvious choice was our parents. We swore them to secrecy as we don't really want to share this yet with the whole-wide world, but secrets have a way of leaking! Stephen also had a plan not to tell anyone until we got to Canada in the Summertime with a big suprise - but this was vetoed!!!
We are about 8 weeks into the pregnancy - Tara is busy puking at any opportunity. We visited a chinese herbal remedy place in the local mall - but both of us are reluctant to prepare the "tea" we were given as we are not sure about all the herbal ingredients! The puking is hard to handle but it's even harder to be hungry and too scared to eat anything. She has lost about 5 pounds to date which can't be so bad in the grand scheme of things. Hopefully the puking won't last too much longer.
