New Picture

Here's a picture of Stephen and I with the new buggy and car seat that Patricia brought us all the way from New Zealand. It's beautiful isn't it?

Getting BIG

It has been awhile since we last wrote and I am feeling guilty. Stephen is out golfing and in a little while I will be off to a children's fun day with a friend and her kids so I thought I would take a few min now to write here before I forget again.

Stephen's mum came to visit last week. It was really nice to see her and saying goodbye this time she left wasn't nearly so difficult as she is coming back just next week! She has gone up north to spend a couple weeks with her mother. Of course saying goodbye at the end of next weekend will be difficult.... Patricia brought us a beautiful baby buggy when she came with all the trimmings. It is a Phil and Ted's buggy which are made in New Zealand. It is quite cool with three wheels and a car seat which can sit on top. The best thing about it too is that you can buy an attachment which converts it into a double buggy (when that time comes...).

We went out last night with 2 other couples from our NCT childbirth classes. It was really nice to sit and chat with others who live so close to us and are at the same stage. Even Stephen had a good time (which I think surprised even himself!). I hope that we can become friends in the next little while.

I should get going as Charlotte will be here momentarily. Will write more later.

First Week Back

This has been a big week: the first week back to school and the first of our antenatal sessions. Tomorrow is Friday and I can't figure out if this week has gone by quickly or not... on the one hand it seems to have flown by, but we are getting so anxious now to meet the baby that every week just seems to drag at the same time!

School has been busy. Monday and Tuesday were teacher-only days to get us all psyched up and ready for the new year, and the students arrived on Wednesday. Stephen's Thursdays are going to be quite long as he teaches from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm with only 30 min away from students. Me, on the other hand, I haven't been timetabled to take any classes so I am creating my own schedule and work at the moment which is nice... I am sure I will need this slower pace as the weeks creep by :)

Monday evening was our first antenatal class. Stephen stayed at the school conference while I attended it. There are 8 couples in total enrolled in it. Everyone seems really nice, 3 of the couples are in their late 30s but the rest of us are around the same age. There are even 2 other couples who live within a 5 min walk of our house! I am excited to learn more about what will happen in the next few months and also to make some new friends. Hopefully Stephen will enjoy the course too and get something out of it. Watch this spot to find out... !
